He was born in Germany and knighted by King Henry VII on April 15, 1497 when he was also presented a coat of arms, of which I have no idea what it looks like.

9. Moses WILDER b. abt 1761 Johnson co, NC m. Priscilla CROWMAN (He served in the Rev. War under Gen. Green. He married 3 times and had 13 children after moving to Dekalb Co., Tenn. Tradition in his North Carolina connection is that he was orphaned early in life and lived sometimes with his Uncle Samuel in what was later Nash Co., N.C. It is said that he was an indendent character as well as eccentric. That he would disappear into the wilderness for many days at a time. He was later listed on the Muster Rolls as spelling his name "Wylder" and "Wildair" (A descendent: Dr. Meldrum K. Wilder, of Albuquerque, N.M.. said: " He was a Corpl. in Capt. Jos. White's Company, Colonel Asa Whitcomb's Regiment") For many years, information about him was that his children were names: Nancy, Wylie, Barbary, Martha, Samuel, Temperance, Berry, Moses J, Jr., William H. He then moved to Greenfield, Il and reared his family there, along with the following children: Lawrence, Robert, Henerson, and George)

10. Wiley WILDER b. Dec 9, 1788 in TN m. Temperance MELTON d. July 31, 1860 in IL ( He changed the spelling of his name to "Wylder". They Had: Toppin, Molaney, Lawrence , Martha, Samuel, Nancy, Henry, Demaris, Elizabeth, William Jasper, Thomas Newton, James Robert Mekton, Mary M., Bluford)

11. Samuel WILDER b. July 29, 1822 m. Maragret Jane DAVIDSON on June 15, 1843 in Green Co., ILL d. June 3, 1893, buried in Lawson, Mo. (Changed the name from WILDER to WYLDER. Children: Sarah E., Francis Ann, William Henry, John Milton, Mary Jane ("Jennie"), Oscar Sylvester)
