1. Nicholas WILDER b. abt 1440 Germany m. ? d. 1525 Nunhide, Eng. Nicholas is the first recorded Wilder in the history of the world (no specific source). He was born in Germany and knighted by King Henry VII on April 15, 1497 when he was also presented a coat of arms, of which I have no idea what it looks like.

2. John WILDER b. abt 1495 Shiplake, Eng m. Agnes/Alice ? bef 1537 Oxfordshire, Eng d. bef 1583 Shiplake, Eng

3. Henry WILER b. bef 1580 Shiplake, Eng m. Edie SAUNDERS sept 23, 1583 Burghfield, Berkshire, Eng

4. John WILDER b. ? m. Alice STRYER 1611 St. Lawerence, Reading, Eng d. 1640. He came to America between 1645-1652 in the Lower Norfolk County of the Virginia Colony.

5. Edward WILDER b. bef 1640 Eng m. Ann ? d. 1687 Lower Norfolk, VA

6. Francis WILDER II b. abt 1650 Norfolk, VA colony m. ? d. 1732 (The Will of this Francis Wilder II was probated in Norfolk County in 1723 showing that his children included Samuel, Jeremiah, Michal (Mrs. Joseph Sawyer), and a daughter, deceased before the Will.)

7. Samuel WILDER b. abt 1685 Norfolk, VA m. ? d. ?

8. William WILDER b. abt 1730 m. Mary ? d. Johnson co, NC ( owned land in Franklin and Johnson Countries, N.C. Among his children are: Samuel II, Moses, William, Jr., Mathrew and Joseph)

9. Moses WILDER b. abt 1761 Johnson co, NC m. Priscilla CROWMAN (He served in the Rev. War under Gen. Green. He married 3 times and had 13 children after moving to Dekalb Co., Tenn. Tradition in his North Carolina connection is that he was orphaned early in life and lived sometimes with his Uncle Samuel in what was later Nash Co., N.C. It is said that he was an indendent character as well as eccentric. That he would disappear into the wilderness for many days at a time. He was later listed on the Muster Rolls as spelling his name "Wylder" and "Wildair" (A descendent: Dr. Meldrum K. Wilder, of Albuquerque, N.M.. said: " He was a Corpl. in Capt. Jos. White's Company, Colonel Asa Whitcomb's Regiment") For many years, information about him was that his children were names: Nancy, Wylie, Barbary, Martha, Samuel, Temperance, Berry, Moses J, Jr., William H. He then moved to Greenfield, Il and reared his family there, along with the following children: Lawrence, Robert, Henerson, and George)

10. Wiley WILDER b. Dec 9, 1788 in TN m. Temperance MELTON d. July 31, 1860 in IL ( He changed the spelling of his name to "Wylder". They Had: Toppin, Molaney, Lawrence , Martha, Samuel, Nancy, Henry, Demaris, Elizabeth, William Jasper, Thomas Newton, James Robert Mekton, Mary M., Bluford)

11. Samuel WILDER b. July 29, 1822 m. Maragret Jane DAVIDSON on June 15, 1843 in Green Co., ILL d. June 3, 1893, buried in Lawson, Mo. (Changed the name from WILDER to WYLDER. Children: Sarah E., Francis Ann, William Henry, John Milton, Mary Jane ("Jennie"), Oscar Sylvester)

12. Oscar S. WILDER b. July 16, 1859 Greenfield, IL m. Emeline Hackett on October 18, 1883 d. Jan 28, 1940 in Bloomington/Normal(twin cities), Illinois (Children: Oliver Hackett, Margarat Lynn, Mary Ellen, Ruth Olive, Dorothy Emeline, Wilmuth)

13. Oliver Hackett WILDER b. September 28, 1884 in Melrose, KS m. Clare Magdeline HUBB on September 21, 1909 in Danville, Illinois d. 1948 in Champaign, Illinois
